The Team
Between them, our talented and professional Instructors have over 55 years of experience in coaching & mentoring operators. Their patient, friendly approach enables them to understand how to get the best out of their trainees, resulting in a 97% pass rate.
Key to this success is their passion for ensuring that the highest safety standards are met, knowing that this is a crucial factor in reducing workplace accidents involving material handling equipment. Not only that, they are committed to showing operators how to maximise the performance of lift trucks, resulting in skilled drivers who can save precious time and money without compromising anyone's safety.
The team are supported by Rachel who runs a slick administration function using our bespoke IT system designed especially for us. Rachel is your dedicated contact for booking courses and will be on hand to assist right up until you have received your certificate on successful completion of your training and beyond.
The Facilities
We can train on our site or yours, depending on your requirements. If you choose to train at HFT, you will be instructed in our bespoke Operator Training Centre with your time split between the theory room and the practical area where a course will have been set up to suit the training you are completing and the environment you will be operating in.
Otherwise our instructors will come to your site so that the training is tailored to the way you work - a great way to put a stop to any bad habits or to build confidence in your own workspace if you're a novice.
Flexibility & Scope
Our instructors are qualified in a very wide range of courses including specialist equipment, underpinned by certified Health and Safety certifications. However, we don't believe in 'off the shelf' so if you can't see what you are looking for, please contact us and we will design a course to suit your needs. This can be extended beyond operator training, we have put together courses in pedestrian safety, LPG refuelling and Manager & Supervisor awareness amongst others. See our course list for more information.
Accreditation
We are endorsed by two very well respected and renowned accrediting bodies to ensure that our standards are second to none.
AITT (Association of Industrial Truck Trainers)
AITT is one of the few training bodies approved by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to certify that forklift training meets the requirements of its Approved Code of Practice (L117). Importantly it's also the only member run accrediting body for material handling equipment training, consisting of industry experts who strive to ensure the highest levels of safety are met. Together with streamlined paperwork processes and being able to tailor content to specific operations, we believe AITT are the perfect choice of partner for HFT and our customers, click here to find out more about them.
We're fully accredited in categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9 - delivering and examining all forms of training, including training new, AITT accredited trainers.
AITT run an operator registration scheme, ACORNS which is a database of all the AITT accredited training that has been delivered by registered training providers and now contains over 300,000 candidate records. Each registration submitted to AITT undergoes a 17 point check to ensure that it complies with AITT & ABA standards, providing the extra assurance of an HSE recognised qualification.
ITSSAR
With a huge knowledge bank and plenty of expertise, ITSSAR write and monitor standards for a very broad range of courses. As a founder member of the Accrediting Bodies Association Work Place Transport (ABA) 2012, their aim is to guarantee the highest quality training by exceeding the standards set by the Accrediting Bodies Forum 2000. ITSSAR have a very thorough approach and their commitment to continuous improvement are values we share, making them an obvious partner - to find out more about them click here.
ITSSAR have implemented a mandatory database (TOPS) for all material handling operators which means that accredited training providers are required to provide details of all training that has been delivered. A unique ID number is then issued and will remain with the operator for life.
