CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

SERVICE & PARTS COORDINATOR

Responsibility for planning and scheduling service & maintenance work for a proportion of our field engineers and coordinating the associated activities. You will work within a dynamic, experienced office based team that has a proactive approach to sustaining the performance of a wide range of material handling equipment, whilst also responding positively and effectively to changes due to breakdowns or other events.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on delivering excellent customer service & efficiency and enjoys working with internal & external customers.

Key Duties:

Building & fostering relationships with our engineers, customers and suppliers

Scheduling services and Thorough Examinations

Sourcing & ordering parts

Providing quotes for after service work

Processing invoices

Producing reports

Ensuring cost effectiveness of all activities

Supporting goods receiving

Working effectively with other departments

 

Skills Required

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desire to meet and exceed customer expectations

Methodical, organised approach to work

Ability to use initiative & problem solving skills

Work as part of a team, face to face and remotely

Knowledge of Microsoft and experience in use of bespoke software

 

40 hours per week based at Infinity House, Hereford.

SERVICE ENGINEER

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer who will be supporting our customer sites.  Our team of Service Engineers work with us as they enjoy the day to day challenges that they are met with and value their ability to work as part of a supported, self reliant and self motivated team in a family run business.  They feel valued and stable and as a result of this, they are able to adapt to various tasks throughout their working day and are accepting to changes within the workplace.

What we are looking for in a Field Service Engineer:

Ideally you will hold a formal qualification such as NVQ and/or City and Guilds, and will have experience of working in the forklift industry.  Alternatively you may be working with agricultural & plant machinery or mechanical engineering & motor vehicles and are looking for a fresh new challenge.  We are seeking a proactive and driven individual with excellent communication skills with a positive can do attitude. 

You will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective quality of service reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

You will ensure that service and repairs are completed to the satisfaction of the customer in and effective and efficient manner.  You will be highly organised and hold excellent time management skills.

Health Care package

25 days annual leave

40 hours week contract

General Main Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Carry out Servicing, breakdowns and preventive maintenance in the most efficient and cost effective  manner on behalf of HFT and the Customer
  • Repair, test, calibrate
  • Provide on-site technical support to clients as required
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Be able to fault find
  • Build relations and offer excellent customer service
  • Maintain company assigned vehicle, tools, and test equipment in satisfactory conditions
  • Adhere to company guidelines regarding safety procedures
  • Ensure all documentations and records relating to service/ repairs are completed and in accordance with HFT Procedures
  • Ensure efficient completion of tasks  assigned by Engineer Coordinator & Operations manager in allocated time provided
  • Work with Customer support Team to meet scheduled/committed activity & Ensure standards and commitments are maintained and upheld
  • Attend regular training courses as required and determined by Operations Manager

APPRENTICE ENGINEER

The skill and knowledge of our team is our greatest asset and passing this onto future generations is the way to guarantee that we can continue to maintain our levels of service and ingenuity. Apprenticeships are at our very core, with 50% of our board members having started as apprentices as well as many of our current team. Our commitment to apprenticeships is proven, having been awarded Apprentice Champion in 2014.

We have developed partnerships with motivational, highly respected educational bodies that support our learning systems to ensure you get the very best out of your journey. Apprentices benefit from working hands on with a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers, many of whom started as apprentices themselves.

Duties and development to include, but not limited to:

  • 1 to 1 job shadowing engineers in a workshop and on customer sites
  • College attendance as per programme detailed
  • General workshop duties maintaining H&S requirements
  • FLT Counterbalance licence to be achieved
  • The servicing of Gas/Electric & Diesel FLTS
  • Fault finding with diagnostic tools
  • Mechanical and electrical repairs of FLTS
  • Assessing and carrying out repairs on FLTS such as Brakes, engines, gear boxes, fuel systems

What training will the apprentice undertake and what qualifications will have been gained by the end of the apprenticeship?

  • Level 3 lift truck and powered access
  • As provided by NWSLC
  • Block release
  • On the Job

What is the expected career progression following completion of an apprenticeship?

A mobile Field Service Engineer.  Senior Engineer with equipment specialisms.  The coaching and mentoring of future apprentices.
